As a freelance adventure photographer Robbie is available for work on assignments which suit his skills and experience. A few examples:
From January to March 2006, Robbie was part of an International Caving expedition to the island of New Britain off the mainland coast of Papua New Guinea. Sponsored by the National Geographic Society in America the team discovered and explored over 12km of ferocious river cave. This was presented in a sixteen-page article in the September 2006 issue of the National Geographic magazine.
In July 2006, Robbie was approached by the BBC to assist in filming extreme locations for a documentary series about the Planet Earth. With his knowledge in rope work and photography, he was able to rig safe working positions for all team members especially the presenter, following established Health and Safety techniques and procedures. This opportunity saw him travel to Greenland and Iceland to help with the safety of the film crew on ice, rock cliffs and close to waterfalls. Some of his photographs from this assignment fill the Harsh World portfolio.

Robbie has also worked on several underground films for the BBC, including national news coverage of the discovery of 'Titan', the deepest cave shaft in Britain, and climaxing with a program called 'Ultimate Caving' staring Kate Humble & Steve Backshall (broadcast Aug 2007).
Working in the commercial world of outdoor clothing, Robbie was commissioned in 2007 by Sealskinz, a waterproof sock & glove manufacturer to update their library of photographs. This assignment covered a wide and diverse range of photography and sports, including running, mountain biking, camping, Kayaking, road cycling, horse riding and general country activities.
