Meet Dr. Alexis Ndongo, Associate Professor of Geology, at Universitié des Sciences et Techniques de Masuku (USTM), Gabon. Alexis is our Gabon project partner. He not only provides invaluable logistical support on our expeditions, but his keen eye for geology and passion for teaching keeps him busy throughout each cave visit; making notes, drawing sketches, and taking bedrock samples for analysis. Alexis also hails from the Ngounié Province. Speaking his mother tongue; Bandzebi, instead of the national language French, opened doors during this expedition that would otherwise have remained closed.
